The Rutto Hardwood Salt Cellar is handcrafted from premium hardwood sourced for our baseball bat operation, transforming valuable material from the bat-making process into a functional kitchen piece designed for everyday use.
Its open bowl keeps salt within easy reach while cooking, and the swiveling wooden lid opens easily with one hand. A discreet embedded magnet helps hold the lid securely in its closed position when not in use.
Keep it beside the stove for kosher salt, sea salt or your favorite finishing salt—or use it to hold other dry seasonings you reach for every day.

Making baseball bats creates pieces of exceptional hardwood that may be too short, differently shaped or otherwise unsuitable for becoming a finished game bat.
Our by-product collection is about finding thoughtful new uses for as much of that premium material as possible. By transforming it into lasting home goods, we can reduce waste, make better use of the hardwood already coming through our shop and give beautiful wood another purpose.
